Ultimate Rockside starting guide
The guide for people who want to be part of endgame fast (this guide was redacted by carnack)

Introduction of game
Lets introduce the game first a little bit. Most of the players are familiar with Fallout 1 & 2 and if not i highly suggest atleast one playtrough.
Fallout 1: In a post-apocalyptic world, you emerge from a vault to explore the wasteland, facing mutants and factions, while seeking to save your home from a water crisis and uncovering the truth behind the devastation.
Fallout 2: Set in the aftermath of a nuclear war, you play as the descendant of the first game's protagonist. Your quest takes you across the wasteland to find a Garden of Eden Creation Kit (GECK) to save your tribe, encountering various factions and challenges along the way.
FOnline 3: You begin as a soldier only to be thrust into chaos after being defeated by powerful enemy. Awakening in the village of Rockside, getting basic training and setting yourself into the dangerous post-nuclear world, you forge alliances with gangs to dominate the wasteland and shape its future.
The game is running in the engine based on the previous games but the difference is that here we are mainly focused on real-time combat, turn-based not so much. Although the turn-based combat is still present, it is used only in 20% of the game and most of the community is playing in real-time.
Realtime combat is still using action points and those are still one of the most important stats for you in most builds. But in real-time combat the action points are regenerating as you go instead of being regenerated on the end of each turn.
Creating first character
After you download the game files, open fonline2.exe or fonline3.exe. Click on registration and create new character. After you create your character you will spawn in a battlefield, where powerful enemy will zero you down. Once you wake up from coma in the rockside, chat people around. I suggest you read the guide on wiki regarding information of Rockside.
Don’t forget to do the driving licence quest in rockside! Search for robot inside the basement and follow the guide from following link : Getting a Drive License
Once you have the driving licence, let us continue with development.
Ignore the character builds suggested on wiki (really), use the one from image above. Later you can create your own builds and experiment (https://fonline3.com/build) but at the moment we go for meta.
Weapon of choice
Get spiked knuckles or knuckles as your first weapon and when you gather enough experience on the weapon, it will ask you which perk you want to add on this weapon, choose “less ap cost”. It is very important to choose this perk, so if you accidentally chose wrong perk, make new knuckles.
Armor
Get your hands on combat armor or metal armor as soon as possible. And keep grinding the mobs in rockside until you reach level 25. (ndr: combat armor come killing 10 aliens, Metal armor killing 10 Deathclaw but you can ask to another rocksider)
Perks progress
Choose those perks on corresponding levels:
Level | Perk |
---|---|
3 | Bonus HtH Damage |
6 | Gain Strength |
9 | Vampire |
12 | Fast Attacks |
15 | Action Boy |
18 | Bonus HtH Attacks |
21 | In Your Face! |
24 | Better HtH Criticals |
Set the Character Class
On level 25 go to the gate and talk to Ricky Rick near to the mutant at gate, he can give you one of class perks:
- Regulator
- Chosen one
- Combat master
Choose regulator and you will get option to add two more traits, choose those:
- Chem Reliant
- Heavy Handed
drugs
Get your hands on those drugs:
- beer
- gamma gulp beer
- roentgen rum
- rot gut
- nuka cola
Conclusions
Now you have two options, either leave rockside (at the same place like you talked with the mutant who gives class perks) if you are like me (ndr carnack) and want to experience the mmo world. Or alternatively you can stay in rockside and slaughter some more NPCs to get to 100-200 level or higher and then set out into the world little more powerful.
